Do I need writing experience?
No. Heart-to-Story is designed to help you understand the process as you build. You don’t need a writing qualification or previous publishing experience.
Do I need to already have a book idea?
It helps, but you don’t need a fully developed story. The early stages help you explore ideas and identify the story worth developing.
Is this only about writing?
No. Writing is central, but children’s book creation involves much more. Heart-to-Story also introduces illustration planning, production, proofing, publishing, launching and author development.
Will the course write my book for me?
No. Heart-to-Story teaches you how to develop and make decisions about your own work. Your voice, imagination and story remain yours.
Is the Blueprint separate from the course?
The Blueprint is an integral part of the Heart-to-Story system. Activities throughout the course feed into it so your work develops alongside your learning.
Can I work at my own pace?
Yes. Heart-to-Story is designed as a guided, self-paced online journey.
Does completing the course guarantee my book will be published?
No. Publishing involves creative, technical, financial and business decisions unique to every project. Heart-to-Story prepares you to understand those decisions and take your next steps more confidently.
Is Heart-to-Story only for self-publishing?
No. Much of the creative development is relevant regardless of the publishing route you eventually choose. The course also helps you understand different pathways so you can make an informed decision.
Do I need an illustrator before starting?
No. The course helps you understand the role of illustration and eventually prepare to communicate your creative direction to an illustrator.
